Paragliding
Paragliding is a recreational and competitive adventure sport in which a person flies through the air using a paraglider, a free-flying, foot-launched glider aircraft. The pilot sits in a harness suspended below a fabric wing, which is made of ripstop nylon or other materials. The wing is supported by lines, called suspension lines, which are attached to the wing’s leading edge. The pilot controls the glider by pulling on these lines, which change the shape of the wing and alter its lift and drag. Paragliders can be launched by foot from high ground or by towing from a vehicle or boat. They can land on any flat surface, including grass, dirt, or water.
